I bought this car because I was so happy with the 1989 Jaguar XJS Convertible that I had. When I found this, it was the perfect counterpart to the convertible. It had about 12,500 miles on it and had obviously been very well maintained. It came with all the service records and had always been kept garaged and covered when it wasn’t being driven.
Since I already had a convertible, I had decided that I wanted a hardtop as well. These 2 cars were the first Jaguars that I have ever owned. I still think that the Jaguar E-Type is one of the sexiest cars ever built, and I’ve always liked the body lines of them. The problem was that I had heard horror stories about the V-12 motors and wasn’t looking to have the cars spend all their time in the shop.
At the time I bought the cars, Ford had already taken over Jaguar and I felt that it was a good time to try Jaguar. It turns out that I loved them both. Great ride, smooth motors and beautiful looking. What else can you want in a car? Strangely, even though I’ve come close to buying more Jaguars since, I have never found the right one or the right deal. Maybe that will change, because I really love them.
