1989 Jaguar XJS Rouge Edition

This is a car that certainly doesn’t fit my collection.  Over the years, I’ve only had a handful of non-American made cars.  This one was a beauty, though.  I bought this very early in the collecting process.

I was going to lunch with my wife one day and we stopped by a car dealer in Scotsdale, AZ afterward.  We had a neighbor that worked there and we just wanted to say Hi since we were in the area.  He sold a lot of exotic and foreign cars.

This particular car had about 3,900 miles on it.  I had never owned a Jaguar before, but I really liked the body lines.  The interior was beautiful and it was a very clean car.  I took it for a drive with my wife, and we both fell in love with it.  This car was a V-12 and the motor ran as smooth as silk.  The ride was really fantastic, too.  We decided that this would make a fun driver and bought it on the spot.

The car was delivered later that afternoon to our home, and we proceeded to drive it as one of our daily drivers.  I kept the car for probably 8 years before selling it to a friend that begged to buy it.  We let it go, and he made it his everyday car.  It was nice to see it go to a good home.
