1968 Dodge Dart GTS Convertible

This is the other car that I got when I bought my black 1968 Mr. Norm GSS Dart.  I was actually looking for the GSS, not this car.  It wasn’t a big deal, because I love Darts so much.  To my surprise, this was a really great car.  It’s a perfect driver – 340 motor, automatic and A/C.  Since the day I bought it, it’s been one of my everyday drivers.  I don’t say that about a lot of cars, but this is a great example of a beautiful well running old car.  I’ve had it repainted, but it was so clean it didn’t need an entire restoration.

A couple years after I bought the car, I received a call asking if the Oakland A’s could use my car to shoot some TV commercials.  Of course I said yes, and drove the car to a photo shoot at Phoenix Municipal Stadium where the Oakland A’s did their spring training.  They were shooting a number of commercials that day and we got to watch the process.  It was actually a lot of fun.  The commercial they used this car for was the Short Stop driving up to the stadium entrance, getting out of the car and walking inside.  Not a big deal, but it was a fun day.
