1957 Ford Thunderbird

1957 Ford Thunderbird

There was one rule that always applied to my collection.  If a vehicle was either yellow or a truck, it belonged to my wife.  This car was the exception.  When I first bought this car, we took it to show to my In-Laws.  My Mother-in-Law immediately claimed it and told us that as far as she was concerned, it was her car.  Whenever we went to visit, we brought the car and took her for a ride!

The first generation of the Ford Thunderbird was a two-seat convertible produced by Ford from 1955 through 1957.  It was the first 2 seat Ford since 1938.  This car was developed in response to the 1953 Motorama display at the New York Auto Show which displayed the Chevrolet Corvette.

The lines of this car are of a classic sports car.  I spent a long time looking for a 55-57 Thunderbird, and when I found this one, I couldn’t resist.  It’s a beautiful example of a ’57 T-Bird.  This Aztec gold car was restored by a noted Thunderbird restoration expert.  Several driver friendly enhancements were made in the areas of cooling, performance and sound which made for a great driving experience.  This car was fun to drive and always a head-turner.  This car was an icon.
